Important Alexandra Playground Information

To ensure the safety of children, families and communities, individuals should take precautions when visiting playgrounds.  Using playgrounds does have some risks.  Children may find it difficult to avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth.  This can lead to the spread of the virus to playground equipment, other children, and other families.  Playground users must comply with gathering restrictions and maintain physical distancing of 2 meters between individuals not from the same household.

The Alexandra Playground will have limited public times, to ensure the safety of the Inglewood Child Development Center children, families, and staff.  The Alexandra Playground will be closed to the public during the following days and times:

Alexandra Playground Closed to Public

Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am

Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

All other times will be open to the public.

Please note that the Alexandra Centre building remains open to only essential visitors.  You will not have access to washrooms inside the Alexandra Centre when you visit our playground.

Those who are sick or have symptoms related to COVID-19 must not use the playground.

  • Encourage children to avoid sharing toys and sports equipment
  • Limit contact with individuals outside your home or cohort family
  • Clean and disinfect toys and sport equipment prior to and after use
  • Caution should be taken around playground equipment
  • Practice proper hand hygiene:
    • Wash hands frequently
    • Refrain from touching your face with unclean hands
    • carry and use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol content immediately before and after using playground equpment
  • Consider limiting children and other members of your household to only visiting playgrounds that are close to home.  This will help limit the number of people your family may come into contact with
  • Maintain physical distancing of 2 meters and limit congregation with other people when entering and leaving the playground and supervising children playing
  • Individuals should maintain physical distancing when returning to vehicle or homes
