Seniors Care Packages

Each year, the Alexandra Centre Society collects referrals from social workers for seniors that live in the inner-city communities, that could use a picnic basket of food.  We provide them with this nourishment and collect volunteers together to deliver to their homes.

This spring, due to the COVID_19 pandemic, we've surveyed the needs for seniors and determined that a care package would be more suitable.

Our themed care packages we plan to deliver this spring would consist of:

  • Activity items (knitting materials, puzzles/crosswords, baking ingredients, plants, or art supplies);
  • Books graciously donated by Calgary Reads;
  • Hygiene items (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner);
  • Drawings & Cards from neighborhood children!

In providing these senior care packages, the Alexandra Centre Society hopes that seniors in the community will feel cared for and less isolated during this time.
