Volunteer Position Availability

1) Volunteer Board Member

Authority and Responsibility: The Board of Directors is the legal authority for the Alexandra Centre Society (ACS). As a member of the Board, the Director is in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization. The Director keeps current on matters affecting the ACS and participates in the Board’s deliberations and decision in matters of policy, finance, programs, personnel, and advocacy. The Director must assist in developing and maintaining positive relations among the Board, committees, and community to enhance our mission and vision.

Every organization needs a strong and effective board to fully realize its potential thus our board members champion the importance of exceptional leadership.  In addition to standard roles and responsibilities, board members are active advocates and ambassadors and are fully engaged in identifying and securing partnerships necessary to support the Alexandra Centre Society.

We are currently seeking Directors at Large.

If you are interested in this position, please contact ACS Board Member, Brian Blackburn at president@alexandracentresociety.org.

2) Grant-Writing Volunteer

The Alexandra Centre Society is looking for a volunteer to do some online research, find potential grants and partners, and then complete the applications on the Society’s behalf.

The Alexandra Centre Society is a registered charity established in 1975. All funds raised will go towards ACS programs and services, or to help maintain and upgrade the Alexandra Centre building. Previous grant-writing experience is an asset though not necessary.
If you are interested in helping out, or would like more information, please contact Regina Chan at executivedirector@alexandracentresociety.org
